A native of Arkansas, born February 14, 1948 in Booneville Arkansas.
Mom said she had to walk miles in the snow to the hospital for the
event. My view several years later was that it was four blocks. Most
likely felt like miles. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior in September 1957. I became a member of the Bailey Hill Baptist Church in Fort Smith
Arkansas where I was nurtured in faith.

I became a member of the first graduating class of Southside High
School in Fort Smith Arkansas in 1966. Earned an Associate Arts degree
from West Ark Junior College also in Fort Smith, Arkansas. From there I
became an Arkansas Tech Wonder Boy where I ran Cross Country and
Track and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1970.
With a number four draft lottery number I spent two years in the United
States Army.

While in the Army I finally said yes to the Lord’s call into ministry. I
attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and received the
Master of Divinity degree in 1977 and the Master of Religious Education
degree in 1978.

While attending Seminary I became a member of Gambrell Street
Baptist. This is where I met Marcey Jo Wardlaw know as the better half
and we were married January 12, 1979. Following Seminary I was
Pastor of the Heron Drive Baptist Church in Lake Worth Texas for five
years.

After that I worked two years for the State of Texas auditing Nursing
Homes. From there I went to work for the Internal Revenue Service
from which I retired after twenty five years.

In 2016 I took the position as Administrator for Gambrell Street Baptist
Church. I continue in this position with much pray support and grace
from the congregation and the Lord.
